Why is the need so great?

Furniture banks around the county battle the lack of mattresses.  They are expensive and most people do not buy them very often so the supply is low.  Hotels do rotate them in our area every 4 years but most do not use twin sized and that is our biggest demand due to the small size of the average Low income apartment.   

It is a national problem.  Most people keep mattresses for many years. After a few years, most are generally not suitable for other users.  And most people do not want to sleep in a second hand bed.

We do work through many avenues both corporate and private to secure bulk donations but the demand far exceeds the supply.

Too many kids will sleep on hard cold floors tonight for lack of a bed. You can help.

For a $100 donation  we can provide a  new mattress set, frame and bedding to a local child.

On an average day we have more than 100 children in Lowell alone, sleeping on the floor  while they wait for mattresses.

Each month we give out roughly 50 beds including: mattresses sets, cribs, beds, sleeper couches, cots and recliners (for heart patients).   But we never have nearly enough.  

We welcome your donated clean mattresses and work hard to procure large donations from hotels and other sources. Folding beds frames are always welcome too.  But to catch up with demand we need to buy them wholesale.  $100 buys a twin, full or queen mattress set for a client in need. More than 2/3 of our clients are kids.

Our goal  is to get all the families on our list and living in our area up into safe warm beds this year.  With your help, we can make it happen.
