More changes going on at the warehouse –
Chief Executive Officer David Fitzgerald has stepped down for personal reasons in anticipation of moving back to New York to rejoin his family. We wish him the best!
In a press release that went out to local newspapers the President of the Board of Directors wrote:
The Wish Project Announces Search for Next Chief Executive Officer
The Wish Project, a nonprofit furniture, clothing, and household goods bank based in Chelmsford and serving families in need throughout the Merrimack Valley, announced today that it has begun the search for its next chief executive officer. Rick Dunn, the president of the board of directors, said that the search committee would be headed by Alyce Moore, former general counsel at Kronos Incorporated and long-time Wish Project volunteer and supporter. Moore will also oversee The Wish Project as interim executive director, assisted by Jill Maker, the chief operations officer, as well as the devoted staff.
In announcing the search, Dunn thanked the outgoing chief executive officer, David Fitzgerald, who is stepping down for personal reasons. “In the nearly four years that David has been with us, The Wish Project has grown and strengthened. Under his leadership, we have helped tens of thousands of families meet their basic needs especially in times of crisis. We moved from our longtime location in Lowell to new space in Chelmsford. We supported the community throughout the Merrimack Valley gas explosions. We are all thankful for David’s leadership and commitment. He has helped to make The Wish Project what it is today. We could not have done it without him and without our dedicated and passionate volunteers, generous donors, and dedicated staff.”
We know you join us in wishing him well as he returns to New York to rejoin his family.
