Board of Directors

Liana Kipp | President
Liana’s career has been in Audit/Risk Management, first with PwC and now with UKG. Liana has supported and loved The Wish Project for many years since she first volunteered in 2010. The organization became more important to her when she became a mother and understood how much support a parent requires for basic needs. Liana finds it fulfilling to see the joy in clients’ and volunteers’ faces, and finds the energy she feels when volunteering to be mesmerizing.

Elizabeth Kittredge | Vice President
Elizabeth is the founder of Kittredge Law P.C., an estate-planning firm located in North Chelmsford. Her family has supported The Wish Project for many years, and she became actively involved with Wish following a sponsorship of an event, which led to a tour of the warehouse. That tour showcased all the amazing projects Wish coordinates year-round. The energy of the staff and volunteers was beyond welcoming. Elizabeth now volunteers weekly with The Wish Project and enjoys being part of such an outstanding organization and team of individuals serving its clients.

Nicholas Stellakis | Secretary
Nick is an attorney at Hunton Andrews Kurth in Boston. He joined The Wish Project Board in 2016. As leader of his office’s pro bono practice, Nick has always been committed to securing justice and equity for all individuals regardless of financial ability. The organization’s mission and deep roots in the community attracted Nick to The Wish Project.

Randy Mason | Treasurer
Randy has more than 30 years of experience in operations, finance, and regulatory compliance within the healthcare arena. He was Vice President of Research Operations at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he also served as the institution’s Research Integrity Officer and, before that, a Corporate Director at Partners Healthcare (now MGB). He started his career with Ernst & Young in their healthcare-consulting practice, and he holds an MBA in Healthcare Administration and a graduate certificate in Financial Planning.  Randy’s involvement with The Wish Project stems from his passion for environmental conservation and the practice of “reduce, reuse, recycle.”

Lorraine Murtagh | Director
Born in Lowell, and a graduate of UMass/Boston, Loraine worked in State Government for 21 years—ten years in the administrations of four governors, and 11 years as Legislative Liaison for the Department of Attorney General. Since then, she has enjoyed a satisfying career in real estate. Actively involved with The Wish Project from its start, Loraine served as Board Chair for its first nine years.

Susan Smith | Director
Sue is a lifelong Lowell resident and worked for the Lowell Public Schools for 36 years, with many of those years as a student/family support specialist. In that role, she was fortunate to be able to assist displaced families in their quest to make their transitions as seamless as possible by connecting with local agencies and, most importantly, by getting the children into school quickly and without barriers. In this role she became familiar with The Wish Project and has been involved ever since as a Board member, volunteer, and cheerleader.

Chad Groenwoldt | Director

Chad has  spent much of his career in the hotel industry all across the United States and currently works as a Business Operations Manager for Haemonetics in Boston. He has been a proud supporter of The Wish Project for many years before joining the Board in 2022. Chad loves the purpose of The Wish Project, giving back to all who are in need, with immediate, specific items that will help them make a better life.

Michelle Miakos | Director
Michelle is the founder and CEO of 8 Waves Creative, a full-service marketing agency located on the north shore of Boston that defines, architects, builds, and delivers uniquely designed and tailored marketing solutions. Before that, she was the Sr. VP of Global Business Development and managed North & Latin American Operations for MEGA International, a leading software/consulting firm, and the Facility Standards Management Team Leader at the Plutonium Facility at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Michelle joined The Wish Project because she is passionate about helping others, and she serves on other boards for organizations that focus on helping families and children around the world.

Rob Michael | Director
Rob Michael left a career heading the Information Technology function in the Biotechnology industry in 2012. He was then a co-owner of a sailboat rig manufacturing company until 2020 when he retired. He is a weekly volunteer at The Wish Project as well as a Board member. Helping to get household items from those that have them to those that need them is highly motivating and the primary driver of his wanting to work with TWP. The additional benefit of getting more useful life out of household and personal items thereby reducing waste is important to him too.

Jeanne Caraglia | Director
Jeanne is a Vice President of Software Engineering at UKG (formerly Kronos) and has been in the Software Engineering industry for more than 25 years, focused primarily in the Human Capital Management and Workforce Management space. She is passionate about helping people, and feels that taking one worry away from families will allow them to focus on other important aspects of their lives. Kindness and compassion are part of the everyday mission of The Wish Project, and Jeanne could not be more proud to be a part of this special organization.

Kate Larsen | Director
Kate is an Assurance Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, primarily focusing on serving public companies in the Technology sector. She has been with PwC for over 14 years, and has focused her time and attention to helping solve the critical needs of her clients, while also spending time on corporate outreach efforts internally. Kate joined The Wish Project in 2023 after hearing about their mission and its impact on the broader Boston community. As a new mom in 2021, she understands how challenging it is to raise a family, and being fortunate enough to have a support system around her, wanted to help other families feel the same sense of support that she has had.

Lorraine Isley | Director
Lorraine has a diverse background in Community Banking, having worked as an executive assistant, in branch operations and all aspects of lending. Currently Lorraine is VP of Commercial Lending for Washington Savings Bank in Lowell. She first became familiar with The Wish Project in 2007 when The Wish Project’s founder, Donna Hunnewell, asked Lorraine to become a volunteer. Lorraine joined the Board a few years later, serving as president and working with TWP’s Operations Manager and staff to oversee the organization when Donna stepped down. Lorraine’s commitment has been integral to The Wish Project’s continued success. She enjoys helping the organization grow towards assisting more families and individuals have a better quality of life.

Evan Torlin | Director
Evan Torlin is an Information Operations Professional, working for 7 years at Aras Corporation. Born in New York, he moved to Massachusetts 23 years ago, and has been living in the Lowell area for the last 8 years. He has previously served on the boards of the Ayer Library and some religious organizations. He is also presently mentoring in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program of Lowell. The Wish Project’s outstanding reputation, generous work, and positive impact throughout the greater Lowell area is what has drawn him to want to serve on their board of directors.
